New Quest, was a quarterly journal of literature and culture that was launched in 1977.
In 2006 they published a special issue featuring young Indian writing and prominantly featured the early winners and shortlisters of the Toto Awards for Creative Writing.
The feature included reflections by writer and juror Anjum Hasan, alongside writing by Nisha Susan, Shakti Bhatt, SS Prasad, Nakul Krishna, Trina Nileena Banerjee, Abhayraj Naik, Paritosh Uttam, Aurogeeta Das, Arko Mukhopadhyay, Ankur Prahlad Betageri and Pallavi Narayan.
Looking back at this special moment after twenty years, feels not just nostalgic but extremely precious, in this contemporary era of ultra short form content!
