Creative Writing in Kannada

The award for Creative Writing in Kannada was inaugurated in 2011 by the noted Kannada writer and intellectual U R Ananthamurthy. Supported by Bhoomija Trust since its inception, the first award in this category was won by writer and theatre person Mounesh Badiger. Since then it has been won by short fiction writers and poets from all over Karnataka, many of whom have gone on to become published writers and to win literary awards given by the state and central governments.

ಟೊಟೊ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರ
ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸೃಜನಶೀಲ ಯುವ ಬರಹಗಾರರಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತೇಜನ ನೀಡುವ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಕಳೆದ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಟೊಟೊ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರವು ಈವರೆಗೆ ಹಲವು ಪ್ರತಿಭಾವಂತರನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿದೆ. ಭೂಮಿಜ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟಿನ ಬೆಂಬಲದಿಂದ ಕೊಡಮಾಡುವ ಈ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯು ೨೯ ವರ್ಷ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನೊಳಗಿನ ಬರಹಗಾರರಿಗೆ ಮೀಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಕಥೆ, ಕವಿತೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಾಟಕ ಈ ಯಾವುದೇ ಪ್ರಕಾರದ ಸೃಜನಶೀಲ ಬರವಣಿಗೆಯು ಬಹುಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಅರ್ಹವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷ ಈ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡದ ಹಿರಿಯ ಬರಹಗಾರರ ಸಮಿತಿಯು ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ. ತಮ್ಮ ಬರವಣಿಗೆಯ ಆರಂಭದ ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹುಮಾನ ಪಡೆದ ಬರಹಗಾರರು ತದನಂತರ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಗಮನಾರ್ಹ ಸಾಧನೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರಿಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ದೊರಕಿರುವ ಮನ್ನಣೆಗಳು ಟೊಟೊ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯ ಹಿರಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿವೆ.
