The TOTO Awards for Photography, which were inaugurated in 2008 in association with Tasveer, are now supported by the Arts and Photography Foundation. These awards have applauded photographers who have evoked mood, told stories, documented important histories or practices, and extended the medium to include texts, graphics and other interventions in the space of the image. The jurors for these awards, which are given for a thematically connected series of photographs, comprise established photographers, curators, critics, architects and leaders of prominent photography organisations.
2025 Call For Entries – Photography
TOTO FUNDS THE ARTS (TFA), in association with the Art & Photography Foundation, invites entries for its 2025 TOTO Awards for Photography from young photographers between the ages of 18 and 29. Entries should reach TFA by 15 September 2024 at the latest.
Two winners will be decided by an independent panel of jurors to receive a cash prize of Rs. 60,000 each.
Only Indian citizens resident in India are eligible to apply (Overseas Citizen of India cardholders are not eligible.) Since the spirit of the award is to identify promising young photographers, you can apply if your birthday falls between 1 January 1995 and 1 January 2007. No exceptions will be made. Applications submitted by galleries or agencies on behalf of the applicants will not be accepted. Photographers themselves need to apply.
1. The entry should comprise still images, in either colour or black-and-white, or a mix of the two. Moving images and video art will not be accepted.
2. The images should be screen resolution – 72dpi and 1500 pixels on the long side – and each file should be less than 1MB.
3. The set of images submitted should form a series that is presented together on the same theme and edited in the same style. You may submit one or two different series, but each series must comprise a maximum of 16 images and a minimum of 8. Please do not send a random assortment of images.
4. The photographs should be sent in jpg, jpeg or png format only.
5. The photographs submitted MUST NOT carry your name or watermark.
6. The entry should be sent in two parts: fill out an online application form and email your images separately to [email protected], with the subject line reading Entry for Photography Awards 2025 – <Insert your full name>.

Unless you have won a TOTO Photography Award earlier, you are eligible to apply again, but please submit new work for consideration. Work that is part of a series that you have previously submitted, even if not included in the previous entries, will not be accepted.
