How to apply

To apply for any of the 10 awards under 6 categories, the applicants need to adhere to some basic rules and mandates along with completing the online application forms for their chosen category. We follow a calendar of timelines which can be viewed below along with some broad terms and conditions. For detailed rules and conditions specifically pertaining to your category, follow the links to the respective category pages.

The topliners from each category go into the Longlists for the year

The Longlist is further condensed to a final four who remain in the running for the top spot(s)

Awards ceremony

Post jury meetings and decisions, the winners are announced and awarded at an awards ceremony in Bangalore, IN.

Terms and Conditions

  • All participants need to be under the age of 30 and be Indian citizens. OCI holders are not eligible.
  • Only one application per eligible applicant will be considered.
  • Go to the respective category pages for Music, Creative Writing (Kannada), Creative Writing (English), Digital Art, Photography and Short Film to view the calls, application forms and read the detailed rules for that category.
  • All material submitted to TFA should be original work by the applicant and shall not have any third party arrangements with respect to ownership.
  • TFA should be granted the non exclusive license to use and utilize the submitted work in relation to the awards ceremony and other promotional use for the application season and in relation to the awards.
